GSP 'Celebration of Art' Exhibition, at St Mary de Crypt - February 2026

Over the Winter term, many of the schools within the Gloucester Schools' Partnership entered the 'All About Winter' Art Competition, which called for our budding artists to create wintry masterpieces. They could paint, draw, sculpt, print, or use any medium that they wished to depict the season.

Prizes were awarded within each school, with winners in EYFS, KS1, Lower KS2 and Upper KS2 being given a lovely set of art pens or pencils, by the GSP, to continue to develop their talents.

The wonderful St Mary de Crypt, right in the heart of the city of Gloucester, kindly hosted the GSP 'Celebration of Art', once again this year.  The exhibition ran throughout the February half-term, which enabled the children to come and visit, and proudly show off their artwork to friends and family, within the striking Grade I listed building.  Rather appropriately, right next to St Mary de Crypt is the Old Crypt Schoolroom, which was the first free school in Gloucester, built in the 1500s.

The GSP would like to extend heartfelt thanks to St Mary de Crypt for making us so welcome and enabling us to display the wonderful artwork created by the children in Gloucester.

The schools that took part and displayed their artwork were: Barnwood CofE Primary, Beech Green Primary School, Calton Primary, Coopers Edge School, Dinglewell Infant School, Dinglewell Junior School, Elmbridge Primary School, Hillview Primary School, Kingsway Primary School, Longlevens Infant School, Longlevens Junior School, Meadowside Primary, Nailsworth C of E Primary School, Oakridge Parochial School, St Paul's Primary School and Upton St Leonards Primary.
